Iam sure all of you guys are by now aware about the news about the 5 drowned dragon boaters. I must say that it is such a tragic and sad story. I feel sorry for the family and I must say that this kind of incident could have been prevented but I guess if its fated, then its meant to be that way. Like what happened today. I wasnt expecting this at all. For the past few months, I was so looking forward to 2008. All for 2 simple facts that is, my family of 6 will soon become family of 8 in 2008. How interesting right? So when I touch down today, I called home and nobody was at home. So I assume my parents would be going to my malaysia house and I called my dad only to hear singapore ring tone. So alright, he picks up his call and said, "did u hear the news? N im like, eerrr nope, what news? I just touch down." So I got to know that my sis in law had a miscarriage. We were all super duper excited when we first got to know that she was pregnant and the news about her miscarriage totally saddens me. Ive not yet visited her but my brother says everything is fine. Obviously my sis in law is upset because I know how badly she wanted this pregnancy. But Iam sure this is just one of the obstacles in life. -peace-

Yes yes, it has been a long time since I blog until I nearly have forgotten the username and password. Nothing new right. Work has been crazy. Or should I say the passengers has been crazy also. I soo hate this group of passengers. They are the most annoying and rude people and I swear each time I serve these groups, I lost all patience and I feel just like shoving or throwing the food at them. U will never see me smile and once I go to the galley, I took a deep breath and swear. The other day, was the 2nd time I did HKK-BKK-BKK-SIN. Well I heard that bkk-sin is always a rushing flight. I did it once and I thought not so bad what. Well I was wrong. The flight time was less than 2 hours. Full flight and its filled with the group of passengers that I hate. I was still doing collection of trays when captain announces that it is descending. When I go to the galley, there were plenty of food trays of the floor, the bins are all filled up with cups basically it was chaotic. I dont even have the time to do headseat collection and once landed, all these people I hate, will start standing up the moment we touch down which they cannot do so. So end up, we have to shout at them to ask them to sit. Kalau bilang baik2, tak dengar, kena pekik baru paham. The only good thing about that flight was that I bump into my pri sch friend. Normally on my flights, its rare to see malays on board. The other a whole group of soccer guys were on board and my pri sch friend was among them. But too bad, I din even have the chance to talk to him cause it was super chaotic in flight. But we managed to exchange contacts later on.

Next month, is the most super chaotic month ever. Once again, I have to go for training again! This time business class for like 1 week. So first week of Dec is back to sch again. After that, my roster is super crazy that I just stared blankly on the screen. Normally I can see plenty of short breaks in my roster. But this time, I have to really see hard and literally can count the number of days off. So in that month, I have just 7 days break!!! Im working on hari raya haji. Its like Im coming back on the night of the eve of hari raya haji, but flying again on hari raya haji morning itself. I swear I hate this man. I heard promotion is coming soon. Like after this training and a few months of flying, those good ones will get promoted and I never thought I would say this but I hope I wont get it. Its too soon and Iam not ready and I just want them to hurry the recruitment so we will have more crews flying with us.

Peace

So Iam finally back after 2 weeks in HK. It feels so good to breathe Singapore air again. Training this time was alright. Although there was test almost everyday, I feel more relax. The only stressfull day was when we have to learn how to do the duty free sale on board. I know sooner or later Iam going to be assign to do it and I know for sure that I would panic and not know to do so many things. Good luck to myself. The best of the training days is the emergency procedure where we have to again shout the commands and open the door. It was so funny to see all of us blabbering nonsense during shouting the commands. The lesson about making PA was also fun. We have to record ourselves many times making english for everyone and malay pa for myself andwe have choose to choose the best of 1 each for them to access. Satu-satu feeling jadi dj okie! The malays had a good time but the chinese were really on their toes cause it seems all of them have trouble making mandarin pa. Shopping this time wasnt that good cause HK is preapring for the winter season and most, okie not most, but all the clothes that they are selling is for winter use and not practical for our weather. But oh well, I shall be back for training(AGAIN), this time for biz class training, on december so maybe i will have the chance to wear boots and thick jacket. For now, YEAY!! Iam qualified to fly on all types of planes~ weeeee

Singapore Cabin Crew Base officially opens
General Manager Inflight Services Charlie Stewart-Cox and General Manager Southeast Asia Anna Thompson help cut the ribbon at the Singapore Cabin Crew Base opening.
There was good reason for CX to smile in Singapore on 17 October.

ISD marked the official opening of its Singapore Cabin Crew Base on Thursday, 17 October with a simple ribbon- and pig-cutting ceremony officiated by General Manager Southeast Asia Anna Thompson and General Manager Inflight Services Charlie Stewart-Cox.
Also present was Manager Cabin Crew Bases Deborah Mellema, who flew in from Hong Kong to join the Singapore crew for the happy occasion.
Speaking at the event, Charlie highlighted the importance of providing the highest level of service to passengers on this special route. "Singapore is renowned for its high service standards and that is why there are more expectations from our Singapore based crew," said Charlie.
He also encouraged the team to get to know the frequent travellers to help retain repeat customers.
Singapore is ISD's fifth cabin crew base, following other successful bases in Vancouver, London, Toronto and San Francisco.
