Iam sure all of you guys are by now aware about the news about the 5 drowned dragon boaters. I must say that it is such a tragic and sad story. I feel sorry for the family and I must say that this kind of incident could have been prevented but I guess if its fated, then its meant to be that way. Like what happened today. I wasnt expecting this at all. For the past few months, I was so looking forward to 2008. All for 2 simple facts that is, my family of 6 will soon become family of 8 in 2008. How interesting right? So when I touch down today, I called home and nobody was at home. So I assume my parents would be going to my malaysia house and I called my dad only to hear singapore ring tone. So alright, he picks up his call and said, "did u hear the news? N im like, eerrr nope, what news? I just touch down." So I got to know that my sis in law had a miscarriage. We were all super duper excited when we first got to know that she was pregnant and the news about her miscarriage totally saddens me. Ive not yet visited her but my brother says everything is fine. Obviously my sis in law is upset because I know how badly she wanted this pregnancy. But Iam sure this is just one of the obstacles in life. -peace-

Yes yes, it has been a long time since I blog until I nearly have forgotten the username and password. Nothing new right. Work has been crazy. Or should I say the passengers has been crazy also. I soo hate this group of passengers. They are the most annoying and rude people and I swear each time I serve these groups, I lost all patience and I feel just like shoving or throwing the food at them. U will never see me smile and once I go to the galley, I took a deep breath and swear. The other day, was the 2nd time I did HKK-BKK-BKK-SIN. Well I heard that bkk-sin is always a rushing flight. I did it once and I thought not so bad what. Well I was wrong. The flight time was less than 2 hours. Full flight and its filled with the group of passengers that I hate. I was still doing collection of trays when captain announces that it is descending. When I go to the galley, there were plenty of food trays of the floor, the bins are all filled up with cups basically it was chaotic. I dont even have the time to do headseat collection and once landed, all these people I hate, will start standing up the moment we touch down which they cannot do so. So end up, we have to shout at them to ask them to sit. Kalau bilang baik2, tak dengar, kena pekik baru paham. The only good thing about that flight was that I bump into my pri sch friend. Normally on my flights, its rare to see malays on board. The other a whole group of soccer guys were on board and my pri sch friend was among them. But too bad, I din even have the chance to talk to him cause it was super chaotic in flight. But we managed to exchange contacts later on.

Next month, is the most super chaotic month ever. Once again, I have to go for training again! This time business class for like 1 week. So first week of Dec is back to sch again. After that, my roster is super crazy that I just stared blankly on the screen. Normally I can see plenty of short breaks in my roster. But this time, I have to really see hard and literally can count the number of days off. So in that month, I have just 7 days break!!! Im working on hari raya haji. Its like Im coming back on the night of the eve of hari raya haji, but flying again on hari raya haji morning itself. I swear I hate this man. I heard promotion is coming soon. Like after this training and a few months of flying, those good ones will get promoted and I never thought I would say this but I hope I wont get it. Its too soon and Iam not ready and I just want them to hurry the recruitment so we will have more crews flying with us.

Peace

So Iam finally back after 2 weeks in HK. It feels so good to breathe Singapore air again. Training this time was alright. Although there was test almost everyday, I feel more relax. The only stressfull day was when we have to learn how to do the duty free sale on board. I know sooner or later Iam going to be assign to do it and I know for sure that I would panic and not know to do so many things. Good luck to myself. The best of the training days is the emergency procedure where we have to again shout the commands and open the door. It was so funny to see all of us blabbering nonsense during shouting the commands. The lesson about making PA was also fun. We have to record ourselves many times making english for everyone and malay pa for myself andwe have choose to choose the best of 1 each for them to access. Satu-satu feeling jadi dj okie! The malays had a good time but the chinese were really on their toes cause it seems all of them have trouble making mandarin pa. Shopping this time wasnt that good cause HK is preapring for the winter season and most, okie not most, but all the clothes that they are selling is for winter use and not practical for our weather. But oh well, I shall be back for training(AGAIN), this time for biz class training, on december so maybe i will have the chance to wear boots and thick jacket. For now, YEAY!! Iam qualified to fly on all types of planes~ weeeee

Singapore Cabin Crew Base officially opens
General Manager Inflight Services Charlie Stewart-Cox and General Manager Southeast Asia Anna Thompson help cut the ribbon at the Singapore Cabin Crew Base opening.
There was good reason for CX to smile in Singapore on 17 October.

ISD marked the official opening of its Singapore Cabin Crew Base on Thursday, 17 October with a simple ribbon- and pig-cutting ceremony officiated by General Manager Southeast Asia Anna Thompson and General Manager Inflight Services Charlie Stewart-Cox.
Also present was Manager Cabin Crew Bases Deborah Mellema, who flew in from Hong Kong to join the Singapore crew for the happy occasion.
Speaking at the event, Charlie highlighted the importance of providing the highest level of service to passengers on this special route. "Singapore is renowned for its high service standards and that is why there are more expectations from our Singapore based crew," said Charlie.
He also encouraged the team to get to know the frequent travellers to help retain repeat customers.
Singapore is ISD's fifth cabin crew base, following other successful bases in Vancouver, London, Toronto and San Francisco.

So here is my very late updates about raya. Well not too late cause raya is a whole month event. This year raya was abit different compared to the other rayas. Firstly, my 1st bro and wifey din manage to come to our house cause they were so late that we decided to meet them at one of my dad's relatives house instead. You see, the night of raya, my bros,sis-in law, future sis in law, friends and myself went to ecp to play with sparklers and also to celebrate sis-in-law, okie her name is helena, birthday. So the whole group of us were like jumping here and there with the sparklers, meaning we look like young and foolish kiddos. Bf and I decided to leave at ard 2+, while the rest stayed there until 3+. So this long story, explains why my bro and wifey were late. Cause both of them overslept.

So after all that, went to my first uncle's house. Now this year is the first time that we gathered there instead of our late-grandfather's place. Iam so used to going there for like about 21 years, so when they said that this yr,we going to my uncle's place, I went, "OH!". But it was all alright although I miss meeting up with everyone at amk. This yr is my very first time giving out green packets so it was abit fun to give the lil kids the packets. I have so many lil cousins that I confused myself when its time to give them the packets. The rest of the day were as per normal. Luckily this year, we finished quite early. Say 10 houses and we call it a night at around 10+pm. Not too bad right?

Second day of raya, went to Malacca. 3 hours ride and it was alright. I have to admit that among all the relatives I have in Malaysia (mommy's side), I like to go Malacca the most. Maybe becuase the journey is shorter. I dread following my parents going to Selangor. That is why, sometimes I find every single reason to wxcuse myself from following them to Selengor. Cuzzy Ayu, if you are reading this, just zippppp ur mouth alright *winks*

So today is the forth day of raya. Went to RP to see the girls perform. The whole event was alright. I guess the whole motive of going there is to see the girls. Damn I miss them. Just got my Nov roster and all I can say to myself, have fun and good luck dian!". No more 5 days break or watsoever. Now its all 2 days break. How to squeeze in everything in 2 days man. Hate cccchuuu whoever who does my roster! Hmph!! Tomorrow attending cx official opening ceremony at the airport. Iam so not looking forward to this because I know its gonna be boring. In the first place, I have to attend this event because Iam not flying tmrw and that I din read my management's email. So when they msg me and I told them I know nothing, she said, "okie, i dun care, I take it that ure coming". Damn me for not reading the email. She said, you can also claim cab fare u knw. So in my heart I said, waaaa, so good. Not working but can claim cab fare. Only to know later that I have to go to that event wearing uniform. No wonder they allow us to claim cab fare. Evil ppl~ Alright I better go and get myself ready. Will be following my parents go raya visiting. Oh I just remember, I din pack my luggage again today. Damn my procrastination!

Don't you guys like the feeling when Raya is approaching? Well I do. Although I have to admit that the daily trips to the market with mummy and cleaning up the house is totally tiring and I hate it. But I like the after effect when the house looks spanky clean, nice curtains, carpets etc. This year, I have to admit that Iam super helpful because I managed to bake most of the cookies this year. *pat pat on my shoulder* =) I soo cant wait for raya eve. That is the best day man. The feeling that tomorrow is going to be raya and there is also takbir, awesome. So to everyone who is reading this :

To those who are still eligible to get "duit collection", happy collecting. To those who are no longer eligible, just enjoy the whole festive and the happy faces of the lil kids when they receive money from u. Heee~
